1. Educational Record Review
After the initial consultation, your assigned Parent Advocate will meticulously review your child’s educational records. This includes past IEPs or 504 Plans, evaluations, progress reports, and any other relevant documents. By gaining a detailed understanding of your child’s unique academic, social, and behavioral needs, the Advocate can identify gaps in services, overlooked areas, and opportunities for support. This foundational step allows us to create a strong, evidence-based approach to address your child’s needs effectively.
2. Personalized Recommendations and Action Plan
The second step involves a meeting (via phone, in-person, or virtually) where the Parent Advocate will provide a carefully prepared list of recommendations and actionable strategies. These will be tailored to address your child’s specific challenges and strengths. During this meeting, you’ll receive clear guidance on how to navigate your upcoming IEP or Section 504 meeting, including suggestions for accommodations, modifications, and services to request. This session also allows time for you to bring up any additional concerns, ensuring all of your questions and priorities are addressed. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and confidence needed to advocate for your child.

Attending an IEP or Section 504 meeting can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Your Parent Advocate will join you in person or virtually to provide real-time support. We’ll help ensure your voice is heard, advocate for appropriate services and accommodations, and keep the focus on what matters most: your child’s success. With an experienced advocate by your side, you’ll have the confidence to actively participate and hold the team accountable to your child’s unique needs.
5. Detailed Review of the IEP
or 504 Plan Post-Meeting
After the meeting, we’ll carefully review the finalized IEP or 504 Plan to confirm that all agreed-upon services, goals, and accommodations are included and accurately documented. This step ensures that nothing important is overlooked and that the plan reflects your child’s needs effectively. If any changes or clarifications are needed, we will guide you on how to address them with the school, ensuring the plan is implemented properly and in your child’s best interest.
